Description
Product Overview:
An exquisite and highly collectible early 20th-century “Blanc de Chine” porcelain figurine, “Dog with Frog” (Hund mit Frosch), modeled by the legendary German animalier artist Professor Theodor Kärner (1884–1966) for the prestigious Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufactory (Bavaria, Germany). Originally designed in 1907 (Model No. 250), this piece portrays a reclining hound (whippet or hunting dog) resting on an organic, wave-like plinth, peering downward in curiosity at a tiny frog perched between its front paws. Renowned for its naturalistic form, anatomical precision, and brilliant glazed white finish, this model is an iconic example of Art Nouveau and 20th-century European porcelain sculpture.
